Nokia 808 PureView – Nokia Rich Recording Audio Sound Test – Part 04

Hi there!

This is my last (maybe) Part Four of Four by now articles about the tests I
did with for my Nokia 808 PureView Photo Video Test Review.

I would like to say that a very big number of people with questions appeared,
which is the evidence that will show the percent of the interest that this
device will attract.

If you want to read and see more images, photographs and reviews with the
Nokia 808 PureView based on my test, please read my previous three
articles here:

And now, lets continue with the serious part. These next tests were made in the professional sound
recording studio – Sound Recording Studio42, Plovdiv, Bulgaria and are showing a comparison
between my “old” Nokia E7 and the  Nokia 808 PureView which is equipped with  the newest
marvellous Nokia Rich Recording  system for better recording audio, acoustic instruments,
loud concerts, etc. There was an iPhone included in the tests too, but I have no samples from it, so
we will stick to the info that is available at the moment of the writing of this article.
Nokia made their original explanation video with lots of questions asked and answers given here:

but I wanted to do almost the same tests all by myself and in a situation that is not controlled
by Nokia by any of the parameters of the audio, sound, or location  of the tests.

So I went to the studio and here they are, our short tests results made with Nokia 808 PureView
using its Nokia Rich Recording system…

Enjoy!

In my first simultaneous video with both Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia 7
the acoustic sound coming from the drum set was very clear. It is “visible” with
a non-armed ear, that the depth of the sound quality, hight tones and balanced wave
is at a top quality pinned direction.

The next test was made in front of the professional studio monitor speakers both with
my Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia E7. Because of the specifics of the sound itself
it looked like E7 has more strong signal input but again, when playing the same sound sample
with the Nokia 808 PureView the diapason of the sound captured was far, far away better
than the one with the E7. I guess that the Nokia Rich Recording does its work with a limitter
built in, so it could get at the same time high clear tones, very clear and “visible” bass ones.

Here we have a fully prepared for a market release song by ©Sound Recording Studio42
that has the full range of all possible diapason tones, starting with a clear treble tones, very “visible”
bass ones and very good frequency tones in the middle.

And as we continue to talk about a MOBILE DEVICE with such options included
to get the best of the sound you hear and apparently see too, I can only send my admirations
to Nokia 808 PureView sound and video engineers staff!

The difference here is more than obvious one. The E7 couldn’t get the whole sound picture,
not to mention that the sound is pre-modulating when talking about the lower end of the frequency
picture. Of course it is better to have in mind that E7 was build two years ago and the target
of the market share was totally different from the entertainment one… It’s a gorgeous business
class smart phone and I personally, love it.
